Healing Soul of America, Inc.
A ten week pilot program, “Grassroots LeaderShift Institute- SB”, is designed to help people transition from homelessness, prison, unemployment into paid work and housing.
Our two first Pilot projects will take place in Santa Barbara and Long Beach, California.
YLAW – Youth LeaderShift Association
Based in middle and high schools, this program will serve to encourage youth to stay in school and provide an alternate curriculum for young people who are struggling with the basic liberal arts curriculum. By integrating leadership training, sales, marketing, management in ways that help students to master English, Math and Social Studies we will impact the low graduation rates in minority communities.
We will use DECA and 4H Clubs as possible models to help design a pilot program that will launch in early 2012. Particpants will receive stipends for internships in their area of interest. Their will be local, state, national and international competitions, collaborative projects and creative opportunities to experience serving in leadership roles.
WLAW - Women’s LeaderShift Academy Worldwide
We will invest considerable time, money and resources into the training and empowering of women. WLAW, will provide a strong international network of diverse women who are committed to helping themselves and one another create wealth, end domestic violence, stop the rampant spread of HIV and other STD’s, educate their children, and honor their bodies with proper nutrition, rest, and exercise and honor the earth.
We will launch this initiative with our first International Women’s Conference to be held in Uganda July 2011 Empowering Women’s Dreams. This Conference will bring together visionary, dynamic women leaders from around the world. Uganda LeaderShift Project We are currently working to establish a Vocational School and secondary school in Uganda to serve AIDS orphans and other students who transition out of the elementary residential school they established in 2005 in Kampala, Uganda. Our plans include short term providing text books and other teaching materials, establishing a computer center and possibly a sewing center that would serve as vocational education and also provide a stream of revenue. Long term, we will design and construct a campus in Uganda that will provide the highest quality of education at the secondary level as well as providing training and ongoing support for the community, parents and teachers.
