Healing Soul of America, Inc.
Our Mission:
The mission of the venture is two–fold:
o To call forth the greatness within each human being, developing a culture of accepting responsibility and accountability, thereby providing hope, tools and skills that help people in transition -- including those who are homeless, unemployed, coming out of prison, youth and women – to realize a way out of their limitations and to teach them how to create more self-reliant, fruitful, empowered lives through leadership education, and an increased sense of self-worth and purpose.
o To facilitate a paradigm shift that moves away from a top down model with its "us vs. them" mindset to a model that allows for mutual empowerment, co-creation and collaboration, grounded in an understanding that we each are capable of and want to be agents of change in our own lives, families, and communities.
o A major part of the process is to use music, dance, poetry, art, drama, and healing conversations to create safe spaces for people to come together across perceived differences and build bridges and broad-based collaborations that strengthen communities and lead to creative solutions to identifiable problems.
There are many who believe that people who live in these areas have little or no value and are not worth investing in.
Globally, third world nations suffer under the heavy burden of illiteracy, poverty and despair. There is a huge divide between those of us who have achieved some modicum of success and the “least among us”
Our first project, Grassroots Leadershift Institute-Santa Barbara, is a collaboration between Leaders Causing Leaders, Kenneth Schwenker Producer and Audrey Addison Williams, Founder/ CEO of Healing Soul of America, Inc. was born out of a mutual desire to bridge this gap.
Kenneth, offered Audrey an activist, advocate for the poor, homeless, ex offenders and immigrants a scholarship to the first Leaders Causing Leaders Conference in Long Beach, California in November 2011. The Conference brought together 1000 visionary leaders from around the country. The impact on all who attended was transformative. Audrey in particular was deeply moved by the experience and reached out to Kenneth to ask him to help bring that same level of leadership to the grassroots in America, Africa and globally. Kenneth, responded with great passion and commitment.
