Our agency will form collaborative partnerships with federal, state and local governments, school districts and other non-profits to design and facilitate solutions to delinquency, homelessness, teen runaways, jail overcrowding, gang activity, teen suicide and substance abuse.
We will also collaborate with workforce development agencies nationwide to train and support young people to enter the workforce. These partnerships will have as a primary focus the creation of non-traditional streams of revenue to support existing and emerging public and private programs that promote and support self-sufficiency and safer neighborhoods.
Our primary market that we will create living wage jobs for are youth ages 14-22 and seniors 55 and over. We believe that these intergenerational partnerships will provide for the young people we serve; healthy and safe adult support, guidance, friendship and possibilities for co-creation. The benefit to the seniors is equally important. They will have opportunities to use their many skills and talents to benefit young people in their community, thereby creating for themselves much needed revenue and safer living environments. One of the fundamental principles that our work is based upon is that we are all learners and teachers. We will be intentional about creating opportunities for mutual learning and teaching. Process Methodology Healing Soul of America long term will establish chapters in all 50 states and globally.
During our first year, we will establish an office in Santa Barbara and Ventura County and one in Los Angeles County, hire a staff, constitute a board, generate revenue to support the start up phase. Because our primary business is the creation of living wage jobs and entrepreneur training, we will budget during this start up phase for 5 living wage positions and 25 p/t volunteer jobs that we will offer stipends to both youth and seniors. These initial jobs and volunteer positions will be flexible in that participants will have the chance to work in a variety of positions that will include but not be limited to event planning, web design and maintenance, setting up of chat rooms, blogs and conducting on line surveys, travel planning, administration, film developing and editing, concert promotion, community organizing, sound production, marketing, public relations, logo design, program design etc. Healing Soul of America in collaboration with other not for profits and small businesses will design, develop, manufacture, distribute, market, sell our product line on our websites and as part of our nationwide tour.
We will collaborate with probation, school districts, city and county government, police, other youth service providers and churches. We will invite referrals and consider for employment and training youth based on a very broad selection process. We will encourage and support family involvement in all of our processes, which may include offering some of our trainings to parents of the youth we serve. We are excited about and willing to work with all youth and appreciate the opportunity to share our programs and services with those that may be labeled at risk.
